Annual Awards Banquet
The Stateline World Trade Association (SLWTA) will host its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday April 26, 2012 at the Butterfly Club in Beloit, WI.

The SLWTA has been honoring stateline area businesses for 21 years! Each April, the SLWTA proudly recognizes area companies for their accomplishments in international trade and measurable success in the expansion of the importing and/or exporting side of their business. Two stateline area companies have been chosen to receive the 2012 SLWTA International Trade Award. The awards will be presented at the banquet to Fairbanks Morse Engine of Beloit, WI and Forest City Gear of Roscoe, IL.

Please join us to learn more about the inspiring and informative histories and best practices of these award-winning companies! The evening's agenda will include networking opportunities, dinner, and presentations by the honorees about their business and their international activities.

Event Details:
5:30 p.m. Networking
6:15 p.m. Dinner and Evening Program
Cost: Members $25, Non-Members $35, Students $15 with an ID.
The menu for the evening will include: 10 oz. Ribeye, baked potato, house salad, rolls, and dessert. Dietary restrictions should be noted when registering and substitutions can be ordered.

NEW! The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has initiated a Global Business Development Program that aids the expansion of exports by providing matching grant funding to Wisconsin businesses for export training, development, and promotion activities. A company must apply for the Global Business Development Program and be approved before expenses are incurred. This program requires a 25% cost-match , in which the recipient is required to provide matching funds of at least 25% of the total activity budget. MADISON – If your company has been debating marketing your products internationally and just didn’t know the best time, this may be it. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) encourages companies to apply now for the Branded Program, which assists small and medium-sized food and agricultural businesses sell internationally through reimbursement of costs.

“During the first three quarters of 2011, Wisconsin exported $2.1 billion worth of agricultural products, a 24-percent increase over the same period last year and a record value,” said Jen Pino-Gallagher, the leader of DATCP’s International Trade Team. “The Branded Program offers companies a great opportunity to increase your sales in the international marketplace by receiving 50-percent reimbursement on eligible marketing and promotional activities.”
